Wisdom

(also called Speculative Wisdom).— A science of things in their first principles or causes. Specifically, wisdom judges lower things in light of higher things. In the order of cognition, wisdom renders judgments on conclusions and principles from which such conclusions are drawn. Thus defined, it is an intellectual virtue. In the order of grace, wisdom is also the gift of the Holy Spirit associated with the theological virtue of charity.
