Falsity

(also called Error).— 1. The opposite of truth. 2. The discrepancy between a judgment and reality. This is sometimes called “logical falsity.” Improperly one can perhaps speak of falsity of an ontological kind insofar as something can appear to be what it is not, e.g., something might appear to be gold but is not.
