Death

1. A living thing ceasing to exist as a living thing. 2. The permanent or prolonged ceasing of immanent activity in a body due to the soul’s no longer functioning as the body’s actualizing principle. In human beings, whose soul continues to exist after the body ceases to function, death can be spoken of as the “separation” of the soul from the body.
